Star Wars: The last skywalker
The second half of my Star Wars Sequel trilogy edit combining the movies into two films.
I don't hate the sequel trilogy, I just wish they had a better plan for these three movies before they started making them. They are screaming for a through line between them and they just don't have one. My biggest goal with this edit was to try and make this trilogy feel like one solid story. As stated in Part One, the big plot point that is cut in this half of the edit is the deletion of Finn & Rose. Everything about their mission, including all Canto Bight scenes, is cut. They are on a mission of some sort, we just never see it. FILE INFORMATION

edits
[Smaller edits may be done as well that are not part of this list of bigger edits.]
- A lot of the rest of The Last Jedi is rearranged. With the way I cut The Last Jedi into two parts and the exclusion of all of the scenes with Finn and Rose, some of the scenes about the resistance ships didn't quite make sense time-wise. In the end, I had to rearrange a few of the resistance scenes and the scenes with Rey and Kylo.
- Obviously, because all the Finn and Rose scenes are cut, the scene where they are on the docking station with the stormtroopers is cut as well.
- Finn and Rose arrive on the salt planet in a ship. It is assumed they just returned from their mission, barely alive.
- Some of the setting up for the resistance, before the first order arrives on the salt planet, is cut down.
- When Poe tells Finn to retreat while they are attacking the first order on the salt planet, he does. There is no suicide driving and no Rose saving him.
- The Last Jedi scenes end when Rey gets everybody into the ship and Kylo "sees" her. She closes the door and we go to a "one year later" overlay that cuts to Kylo killing guys in search of the directions to the emperor from the beginning of The Rise of Skywalker.
- Kylo actually going to the emperor is moved to a little later in the movie. It is now placed after we have met back up with Rey and company.
- Some of the scenes on the planet Pasaana are cut.
- Some of the scenes on the planet with the destroyed Death Star are trimmed or cut fully.
- Some Exegol scenes are trimmed, especially scenes with the ships flying.
- Kylo and Rey's kiss is cut. Sorry, I know some people like it, I just never saw them being in love. I like the idea they are just connected by the force and they care about each other deeply, I don't think every relationship has to be romantic.
- Again, I know this is a highly contested scene, but I cut her calling herself Rey Skywalker. I get what they were going for but it just doesn't really work for me. She simply buries the swords of Luke and Leia, her masters, and then looks at the sunset before the credits roll.
